**The HEDIS osteoporosis management in women who had a fracture measure estimates the percentage of women 67 years of age and older who suffered a fracture, and who had either a bone mineral density test or a prescription for a drug to treat or prevent osteoporosis in the 6 months after the date of fracture. This measure was reported for the first time in 2004, and only applies to Medicare plans.
