Improving understanding of health disparities from the earliest stages of life is critical to national efforts to improve the health of individuals of all ages. The second in a series of two events sponsored by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), this DataSpeak program contributes to ongoing discussions of health disparities by addressing new approaches for improving perinatal health and birth outcomes.
In this DataSpeak, senior officials from HRSA’s Bureau of Primary Health Care provide an overview of the Bureau’s Health Disparities Collaboratives program and describe its recently completed pilot Collaborative on Perinatal Health and Patient Safety. They will be followed by senior medical staff members from a community health center that participated in the pilot collaborative who discuss their experiences and lessons learned.
