Michael Kogan holds a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from Yale University. He is currently the Director, Office of Data and information Management for the Maternal and Child Health Bureau. In this position he is responsible for directing activities of the office with an emphasis on 1) maternal and child health research; 2) building the data capacity of federal, state and local areas in maternal and child health; and 3) building the maternal and child health epidemiology capacity in the United States.
Prior to this position, he worked as a Senior Epidemiologist at the National Center for Health Statistics, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He serves on the editorial boards of the Maternal and Child Health Journal and the American Journal of Public Health. His research interests include: the effect of prenatal and pediatric care services on maternal and child health, the effect of lack of health care coverage on access and continuity of care, multiple births and determinants of preterm birth.

Stephanie Sansom is a Senior Staff Epidemiologist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Division of HIV and AIDS Prevention. In this capacity, she has played a major role in the development and implementation of CDC's strategy to make HIV testing a routine aspect of prenatal care. She has previously served as an Epidemic Intelligence Services Officer for CDC's Immunization Services Division at the National Immunization Program . Prior to her work at CDC, while at the University of California, Berkeley, she conducted a study examining the labor supply of home health aides and nursing home aides.

Sara W. Balcerek is a nurse with over 30 years of public health experience. She has an M.S.W. in Maternal and Child Health Nursing from Yale University and began work in the agency as a Nurse Consultant in 1976. She has been Director of the Family Planning Program and was Director of the Division of Maternal Health from 1984 – 1994.
During the last nine (9) years, she has served at the Deputy Director level for the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, most recently as Assistant Deputy Commissioner for District and Professional Services.
In February of 2003, Ms. Balcerek returned to Maternal and Child Health as Director of the Bureau of Maternal and Child Health.

Sarah Cooper has worked in public health/maternal and child health for 25 years at both the state and local levels. Currently, she is the Division Director of the Women and Children’s Services in the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control's Maternal and Child Health Bureau. In this position, she is responsible for planning, administration, and evaluation of clinical and supportive services provided directly or through partnerships for reproductive aged women and children. She holds a B.S.N. and Masters in Nursing from the University of South Carolina.

Lynda Kettinger currently manages statewide STD/HIV prevention and HIV care services as director of the STD/HIV Division at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. She has been working with HIV and STD services for over 16 years. Prior to that she worked in the local health district (Palmetto- Midlands area) as director of health education. Ms. Kettinger received her master of public health from the University of South Carolina School of Public Health and a BS in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Lois Bloebaum, B.S.N. has worked in the perinatal health field for over twenty years. She has been with the Utah Department of Health since 1995 and currently serves as Manager for the Reproductive Health Program. In her position she oversees the Perinatal Mortality Review Program, the Utah PRAMS program, the Title V contracts for Prenatal and Family Planning throughout the state and a case management program for high risk pregnant women.

Nan Streeter, MS, RN, has worked in maternal and child health for more than 30 years in various positions. Nan has worked in public health since 1989 with the Utah Department of Health, where she currently is Director of the Maternal and Child Health Bureau. In this position, Nan is responsible for oversight of six programs: Reproductive Health, CASH, WIC, Immunizations, Oral Health and Data Resources, and the State's Title V Block Grant Application and Annual Report.
