High school students who carried a weapon in the past 30
days, by sex and race, 1993-2003 (line graph): 2003: Non-Hispanic
White male, 27.1%; non-Hispanic Black male, 24.9%; Hispanic male,
24.3%; non-Hispanic White female, 5.5%; non-Hispanic Black female,
9.8%; Hispanic female, 8.5%. The percentage of students carrying
weapons has generally decreased among both sexes and each race/ethnicity.
