Any Cigarette Use Among Students in the Past 30 Days, by Grade, 1991–2007

Percent of students:

  • For 12th grade increased from approximately 29 in 1991 to 37 in 1997, then decreased to 21.6 in 2007.
  • For 10th grade increased from approximately 21 in 1991 to 30 in 1996, then decreased to 14.0 in 2007.
  • For 8th grade increased from approximately 12 in 1991 to 21 in 1996, then decreased to 7.1 in 2007.
