Birth Rates Among Adolescent Females, by Maternal Age and Race/Ethnicity, 2005
Rates were higher among 15- to 17-year-olds for every racial/ethnic group. The highest birth rates among adolescents occurred among females aged 18–19 years (69.9 live births per 1,000 females). The rate was lowest among Asian/Pacific Islanders (30.1 per 1,000), followed by non-Hispanic White females (48.0 per 1,000), American Indian/Alaska Natives (87.6 per 1,000), non-Hispanic Black females (103.0 per 1,000), and Hispanic females (134.6 per 1,000).
