Percentage of High School Students Who Carried a Gun in the Past 30 Days, by Sex and Race: 1993-2001

In 2001, 12.2% of black high school students had carried a gun in the past 30 days, as compared to 10.2% of white males, 1.1% of black females, and 1.0% of white females. This rate is rising among white males and declining for other groups.
